NGC 891 is a classical edge-on galaxy in Andromeda with an apperent diameter of 13.5 arc minutes, about 27 million light years away. Perpendicular to the prominent dust line within the galaxies disk, huge filaments are clearly visible.
This is the 'first light' of the new setup (RCOS 14.5" on ASA DDM85) at CXIELO observatory.
This image is dedicated to my friend Daniel Marquardt who passed away too early.
